Pumpkin Patch 2011

Every year at about this time, we dress the kids up in fall apparel (even though it was probably around 87 degrees that day) and head on over to the Pumpkin Patch!  It is always so much fun to watch Sienna and Colton run, play, and be silly at the Pumpkin Patch.  I appropriately take on my role as the intense parent who likes to follow the kids to make sure I get some good photos.  Bart always gets a little annoyed with me about this (I kind of don't blame him), but trust me, when the kids are all grown up, he is going to truly appreciate all of the special moments that we were able to capture on film (or should I say on digital?)  So, with that being said, take a look at the amazing pictures from our time at the Pumpkin Patch!!

"We promise to be good little children!"
Sienna lovin' on her little brother.
Trying to find the perfect little pumpkin to take home.
"Anyone thinking what I'm thinking?"
"I found the perfect pumpkin!"
Monkey see, Monkey do.

"I can pick up a heavy pumpkin!"

"Oh yeah, watch me try to pick up this one!"
Sienna found her perfect little pumpkin too!
Colton looks all grown up in this picture!
"Na Na Na Boo Boo, I'm sittin' higher than you are!"
Always one to strike a pose!
Sittin' with the scare crow.
Thought I'd jump in for a picture too!
I was trying to get them to scream so they would look at the camera!
Still screaming.
Got one more person to take our family photo.
Love the colorful pumpkins.
Sittin' pretty!
"What will happen if I throw the hay?"
Sittin' handsome!
Using a pumpkin to prop himself up.  Very smart.
"I wonder if we can make hay angels?"

Neighborhood Wide Garage Sale

Twice a year, our neighborhood has a community wide garage sale.  In order to make a little money and avoid too much clutter, we decided to join in!  The day before the sale, I asked Sienna if she would like to sell muffins and water (she loves to play store at home so I thought this would be a great learning experience).  To which she replied, "That's a great idea, Mommy.  I will be the Muffin Girl!"  Let's just say that the night before the garage sale was a little bit like the night before Christmas.  Sienna was sooo excited about her muffin sale that she had a very difficult time falling asleep.  I thought it would be hard to get her up in the morning, but she was ready to go!  She helped set up her table and even got a little help from Colton.  I was their first customer and handed Sienna .50 to which she gave me $2 in change back!  Needless to say, we helped out a little with the money situation!  It was a lot of fun and they did sell a good number of muffins and also ate a good number of muffins themselves!  Maybe next year we will sell donuts!

Ready for some customers!
It got a little bright outside so Sienna had to get her sunglasses on!
Oh-oh, Colton is trying to walk away with the balloon centerpiece!

State Fair of Texas

We had so much fun going to see MaMo and PawPaw this past weekend in Duncanville!  We spent some quality family time together and got to get out and see some really cool stuff!  On Friday, we went to Legoland so that we could have some fun building things!  Sienna really enjoyed the indoor rides and playscape, while Colton really seemed to enjoy playing with all of the different Lego's they had.  Before we left, we got to see 3 short 4-D movies in their little theatre and everyone really liked those (especially us grown ups b/c we finally got to sit down)!  Then on Sunday, we went to the State Fair of Texas.  It was cloudy and drizzly for most of the day, but that did not stop us from having a great time.  The kids had never been to the fair and I had only been once myself.  I feel like I must mention all of the crazy fried foods that were available for eatin'!  Fried twinkies, fried lemonade, fried beer, fried pie, fried buffalo chicken in a flapjack, fried bubble gum (most creative winner this year), fried butter, fried coke, fried nutter butter, etc.... I could go on but I won't!  We ended up mostly enjoying fletcher's corn dogs, jack's fries, pizza, and cinnamon rolls.  Sienna and Colton really enjoyed all of the fun carnival rides!  We are so glad we were able to make this trip and I'm sure it won't be the last time we go to the State Fair of Texas!
Colton loved all of the legos and Legoland.

Daddy had to take a picture with him too!

Finally made it the the State Fair!

We had lots of fun on this ride!  It was like a miniature splash mountain!
Gotta eat a Fletcher's Corn Dog at the State Fair!
Colton enjoyed his too!
Don't they look alike?
Oh no, the lion got Sienna!
Sienna obviously loves posing with these cut outs.
Great picture with Mamo and PawPaw.
Tried to get Sienna in picture too but that one didn't work out so well!
This was taken in the Butterfly Garden.
PawPaw and Colton have the same look on their face!!  The end to a wonderful day!

Glee dance along

Sienna started taking a ballet/tap dance class at our gym and we couldn't be more proud of her! She absolutely loves to dance and will usually take any opportunity to practice her moves. So, recently, I put on a few minutes of Glee because I wanted to show her how the kids on the show sing AND dance. Before I knew it, she was dancing right along with them. Luckily, I had the flip camera handy!

1st Week of Preschool

We decided to enroll Sienna and Colton in the Mother's Day Out Program at Oak Hill United Methodist Church after a good friend highly recommended it!  Last year, Sienna got to be a peer mentor at Dawson Elementary (where I used to teach) for one of the PPCD classes.  It was such a great experience for her and she learned a lot!  But this year, we wanted to get Colton into a class too, so the Mother's Day Out Program seemed like the best fit.  Sienna pretty much loves everything about school so we were not worried about her first week.  Colton, on the other hand, had us a little bit concerned.  It would be his first time in a school setting and we were hoping it wouldn't be a difficult transition!  We had told him that he would be going to school like Sienna, but he just turned 2, so we were not sure if he fully understood the magnitude of the situation!  Needless to say, the first week was great!  Sienna settled right into the routine of her new classroom with Ms. Becca.  And while Colton did cry a little when I dropped him off, Ms. Jennifer later assured me that he only cried for a few minutes.  After that, he got over it and joined his class for all of the fun activities they had planned for them!  I am so proud of my two kiddos and am looking forward to the rest of the school year!

Ready to go to school!

Looks like Colton has something stuck in his teeth while Sienna strikes a pose!

Beginning to suspect that Mommy might be leaving soon!

Haircut Time!

Since Sienna and Colton are going to be going to school very soon, we decided that it was probably time for another haircut.  Believe it or not, this will make it both Sienna and Colton's 3rd ever haircut!  We are very fortunate that both kids actually really like getting their hair cut.  Colton just sits there and relaxes while Sienna looks in the mirror to see herself transform into a beautiful princess!

Colton's before picture.  His hair had really grown out!

How do I look now?

Happy to have a balloon while MaMo watches on!

Sienna loves feeling pampered!

We only had them cut off 2 inches b/c Sienna's hair is so pretty!
